The price you pay to grow

Growth is screaming out loud on the inside but looking quiet on the outside. Growth is scary. Growth is a roller coaster of emotions. Growth is letting go. Growth demands that you stop clinging on to safety. Growth is the ego's worst enemy. No one is born afraid. We are all born unafraid of rejection, unafraid of failing, and unafraid of being vulnerable. But as we grow up, we become afraid of what other people will think of us if we fail. But here's the harsh truth: No one is thinking about you as much as you are. Growth belongs to those who recognize the strength in taking two steps backwards to move forward. This is why you experience huge breakthroughs after you quit a job or after a romantic relationship ends. As painful as those experiences are in the moment, I have yet to meet anyone who looks back and regrets moving on. But that doesn’t make it easy. I hope it helps to know that the pain of growth is temporary, but the regret of not growing will last forever. Take the risk. Start the business. Leave the relationship.
